Fonts

Production Log

14/10/2015 – Today I compared and analysed the colour palettes of fashion magazines which allowed me to see what kind of colours I should use when it comes to creating my cover. As well as this I compared fonts to see what I would like to be using on my cover. This helped me get an insight into what is professional and what is not.

Production Log

7/10/15 – Today, I created a mood board of many different magazine covers from my chosen theme being fashion. Then, I looked at specific covers and style, the image used, the appeal and the price. This allowed me to gain knowledge of magazine covers and what common features are included on them. Lastly I analysed 3 contents pages along with covers which helped me to see what I could include in my own magazine.

Production Log

30/09/2015 – Today, I researched magazines of my chosen genre by collecting images and labelling these magazines with glossary items. By doing this I noticed that the magazines all had similarities including mastheads, centre of visual interest and sell lines. This showed me that these are some important things I will need to include on my magazine cover.

Written Film Pitch

Film Pitch

In my film I plan to use a hybrid of comedy and horror. Some of the codes and conventions of this genre is unexpected situation, ordinary characters, a source of fear and characters behaviour and attitudes.

The story is based around a young group of students who have gone on a trip together in which they have a horrific time when they stay at an abandoned home.

I will cast Taissa Farmiga, Kaya Scodelario, Evan Peters, Thomas Sangster and Kimiko Glenn as all of these actors have experience with the horror and comedy genre.

The film will be directed by Gore Verbinski as he has worked on films such as The Ring and Pirates of the Caribbean which shows that he has experience and knowledge on both genres.

I believe because of the comedy horror genre the film should be targeted towards older teenagers, for example 15 and up as horror is often more appealing to younger audiences.

The film shall be set in a local suburban home and this setting will be fairly simple to obtain or create.

This film could be similar to that of the first Scary Movie as it brings both comedy and horror and is based around a group of teenagers. The film is also different in that it has a variety between characters.

There will be a low budget as location and makeup will be cheap and any visual effects or special effects will not be required largely.

I intend to release the movie in local cinemas such as Odeon as I think the film will spark interest and the locality will make it more available to an audience.
